All sessions start at 10.30am and finish at 12.30pm, refreshments will be provided on arrival.
All sessions parents will have a BSL interpreter and these sessions are for both Deaf and hearing parents.
Supporting Siblings – Wednesday, 24th February 2010

Parenting Skills Course, Taster Morning– Wednesday, 31st March 2010
Speakers: Raena Raja & Zobia (NDCS)
Subject Matter:
· Recognise the importance of self-esteem and identify ways of building their self-esteem
· Recognise what high self-esteem can do for their children
· Understand what a parent’s needs are and the importance of having those needs met
· Identify how building self-esteem benefits their relationship with their deaf child
· Describe behaviour rather than labelling
· Use descriptive praise to raise self-esteem and change behaviour
Safeguarding & Internet– Wednesday, 26th May 2010

- Accessing the internet
- Age appropriate areas
- Parental Control
- Inappropriate websites e.g. chat rooms
- Being safe on the internet
- Children’s awareness of the internet
